Dr. Ian Tevis, Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of SAFI-Tech will be traveling to a number of events this fall where he will present on Liquital™, his company’s patent-pending technology that solders without using heat. The SAFI-Tech team is currently working on two manufacturing applications of its Liquital™ product: no-heat soldering for flexible electronics and 3-D metal printing for multi-material additive manufacturing.

Tevis said he is excited to get the word out to a broader audience on “What supercooled liquid metal can do for electronics manufacturing!”

Fall events include:

  • Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge – Global Summit October 26-27, Le Centquatre, Paris
    • SAFI-Tech has been selected as a New Materials track finalist in the 2017 challenge. At the #HTSummit, the company will have the opportunity to compete for prizes, meet with industrial leaders and investors, showcase its product and pitch in front of a curated audience.
  • IDTechEx! Printed Electronics USA – November 16, Santa Clara, California
    • Dr. Tevis will be speaking in November at the world’s largest event on printed and flexible electronics. His presentation topic is on “Supercooled Metals as Low Processing Temperature Conductive Ink.”

  •   iMatSci at MRS Fall Meeting 2017 – November 27-28,  Boston, Massachusetts

    • SAFI-Tech’s technology has been accepted into the iMatSci Innovator Showcase at the 2017 MRS Fall Meeting. This year, iMatSci will welcome 25 innovators who will be demonstrating their new materials-based technologies. All technologies will be judged, and the top three will be awarded cash prizes based on the following criteria: clarity, presentation, value proposition, impact and scalability.

About SAFI-Tech
SAFI-Tech has invented small liquid metal filled balloons that can be broken to release the liquid metal, which then solidifies. The material can be applied as a paste or spray and by removing the heating/melting of the metal from the processing sensitive electronic materials and substrates can be electrically connected, 3D-printed, or repaired without heating, thereby making new products, lowering manufacturing costs, and decreasing energy use.
